Romania to chair La Francophonie Permanent Council

During the 132nd meeting of the Political Commission of the La
Francophonie Permanent Council - CPF (Paris, February 21, 2007), the
members of the Commission unanimously supported Romania’s candidacy
for becoming the next CPF Chair.

This success emphasizes the sound position Romania has achieved
within the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), and
will facilitate Romania’s strong commitment to reforming and
restructuring of the OIF.

At the same time, Canada and Laos were approved for the positions of
CPF Vice-Chair. All the candidacies will go into effect following
their notification in the next CPF meeting, to be held this April.

Roumanie présidera le Conseil Permanent de la Francophonie

Pendant la 132éme réunion de la Commission politique du Conseil
Permanent de Francophonie - CPF (Paris, le 21 février, 2007), les
membres de la Commission ont unanimement soutenu la candidature de la
Roumanie pour devenir le prochain Président du CPF.

Ce succès mets en évidence encore une fois le rôle actif de la
Roumanie au sein de l’Organisation Internationale de La Francophonie
(OIF), tout en facilitent le fort engagement de la Roumanie pour
reformer et restructurer l’OIF.

Avec la même occasion, le Canada et le Laos étaient approuvés pour
les positions de Vice-présidents du CPF. Toutes candidatures
entreront en vigueur suivant leur avis pendant la prochaine réunion
du CPF, cet avril.
