AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE UNIVERSITY OF TIMISOARA
AND GLENDON COLLEGE, YORK UNIVERSITY

Cultural and scientific exchanges between these two universities will contribute to the enrichment of knowledge and scholarship and further cultural and international understanding. The University of Timisoara and Glendon propose the adoption of the following articles which contain the basis of an exchange programme between the two institutions.
Article 1
Glendon College, York University agrees to accept, yearly, up to two undergraduate students from the University of Timisoara into the following programmes: English, French, Spanish, Translation, Mathematics, Computer Studies, Sociology, Psychology, History, Canadian Studies, International Studies, Political Science, Women's Studies and Multidisciplinary Studies, on the condition that the students satisfy existing admission requirements. Travelling expenses, academic fees and living expenses will be the responsibility of the students, who will be eligible for scholarships offered by independent organizations.
Article 2
The University of Timisoara agrees to accept, yearly, up to two undergraduate students from Glendon College, York University into the following programmes: English, French, Spanish, Translation, Mathematics, Computer Studies, Sociology, Psychology, History, Canadian Studies, International Studies, Political Science, Women's Studies and Multidisciplinary Studies, on the condition that the students satisfy existing admission requirements. Travelling expenses, academic fees and living expenses will be the responsibility of the students, who will be eligible for scholarships offered by independent organizations.
Article 3
Glendon College, York University, agrees to provide lodging for a professor or graduate student from the University of Timisoara, for a period of one month per year, to carry out research at Glendon College in an area and at a time approved individually by the Principal Of Glendon College and by the Rector of the University of Timisoara.
Article 4
The University of Timisoara agrees to provide lodging for a professor or graduate student from Glendon College, for a period of one month per year, to carry out research at the University of Timisoara, in an area and at a time approved by the Rector of the University of Timisoara or by the Principal Of Glendon College .
Article 5
Instructors, students and researchers from both countries participating in the exchange upon in this document will be eligible to apply for travel funds from appropriate organizations in their respective countries.
Article 6
The two institutions agree to encourage as much as possible any other academic, scientific and cultural exchanges which might arise from need or from individual initiative.
Article 7
This agreement comes into effect as of January 1, 1994. It covers a period of five years and is subject to tacit renewal. Annually, this agreement can be terminated by either party with notice of six months.
To ensure continuity in the scientific and pedagogical cooperation established by the agreement, each of the participating institutions will designate each year, instructors and researchers who will most likely pursue the activities undertaken in this agreement. However, it is understood that the designation of these specialists will be jointly agreed to by the two institutions. Decisions concerning the period chosen for the exchange will also be agreed upon by both institutions.
There will be consultation between the two institutions whenever it is deemed necessary. this will allow for joint evaluation of the progress of teaching and research initiatives and of planned or completed exchanges.
Article 8
Professor M. Reghis will act as coordinator for the University of Timisoara and Professor Eugene Roventa as coordinator for the Glendon College, York University.
